Applying for a Place

We offer a range of government funded places for children between the ages of 2 and 4 including 15 hour universal places for all 3 and 4 year olds and funded places for working families for 2, 3 and 4 year olds.

We currently offer the following places:

Nursery aged children – 3 and 4 year olds

All 3 and 4 year olds can access 15 hours of government funded education. From September 2024 we will offer these places as follows:

  • 5 morning sessions or

  • 5 afternoon sessions or

  • 2 full days – Monday and Tuesday or

  • 2 full days – Wednesday and Thursday

Working parents can access 30 hours of government funding and parents should apply for a code from the governments Childcare Choices website. This code will be required by the school to confirm our child’s place. Alternatively, parents can choose to top up their funded hours and pay for the additional 15 hours.

All 30 places, whether funded or fee paying are provided over 4 days – Monday to Thursday 8.30am-4pm

We offer a wrap around service on Fridays which is fee paying and available to all parents.

Two year olds

We offer funded places for two year olds for working families and for families who are eligible for ‘Terrific for Two’s’ funding.

From September 2024 these places will be offered as follows:

  • 5 morning sessions or

  • 5 afternoon sessions or

  • 2 full days – Monday and Tuesday or

  • 2 full days – Wednesday and Thursday

At present government funding for families is for 15 hours a week but we appreciate that some families may want to purchase additional hours.

Parents can choose a 30 hour fee paying place – Monday to Thursday or a full-time Monday to Friday and the 15 hours government funding will be deducted from parents fees.

SEND Provision

The school has a Resource Base for children with complex SEND needs. This is sometimes referred to as an ‘Inclusive Nursery’. These small, specialist classes provide support for Nursery and Reception aged who have significant and complex needs. Pupils who attend these classes have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP).

The school does not manage the places in the resource base classes and these can only be allocated by the council’s SEND Teams as part of the EHCP process. Parents who apply directly to the school for a nursery place will not be able to access a specialist SEND place for their child and they will be allocated a place in our larger mainstream nursery classes.

More information about the Council’s provision for children with SEND is available in the Council’s Local Offer.
